Privacy Statement of Regio Foodvalley

The nature of our activities means that we are required to process certain personal data. In this Privacy Statement, we explain to you how we at Regio Foodvalley deals with your personal data in our capacity as data controller within the meaning of the General Data Protection Act (“GDPR”). All the personal data made available to or collected by Regio Foodvalley is processed without the utmost care.

1. Which personal data do we process?

“Personal Data” means all information that enables a natural person (the “Data Subject”) to be identified (directly or indirectly). Your Personal Data that we can process include:

  • surname, full forename(s), initial(s), title and/or sex;
  • address and town/city;
  • email address, telephone number (including mobile telephone number);
  • the company where you work and/or your position;
  • the IP address of the device you use to visit our website;
  • job application data;
  • all your other Personal Data which we acquire from you or which we can request ourselves and which we use for the purposes described below.

2. How do we obtain Personal Data?

We obtain your Personal Data if you make such data available to us, for example if you register for one of our meetings or events, access or fill out a form on our website, apply for a position and/or take up employment with us, if we conduct phone calls or conversations with you and/or contact you via email. We may also obtain Personal Data from public sources and/or websites. 

3. For which purposes do we process Personal Data?

We process Personal Data for the purpose of our meetings, initiatives and collaborations. This means that we process your Personal Data for the following purposes:

  • Performing services

We process data needed for preparing, executing and finishing our services. Regio Foodvalley organises meetings and events on a regular basis. You may register for such activities via the activation link which will be temporarily available on our website or that we will send to you via an invitation. We will keep your Personal Data for as long as is necessary for our services.

  • Complying with legal obligations

We process Personal Data to comply with legal obligations such as administrative requirements and/or retention periods.

  • Job applications

If you apply for a position with us we receive your Personal Data. We will keep these data up to four (4) weeks after the selection procedure has ended, unless you have given us your explicit consent to keep the data for a longer period. In such case we will keep the data for a maximum of one (1) year after the selection procedure has ended. In this way you enable us to contact you for any appropriate future vacancies. 

4. On which legal bases do we process Personal Data?

We only process your Personal Data if there is a legal basis, i.e.:

  1. it is necessary for the performance of a contract;
  2. because of a legal obligation;
  3. you gave us your consent;
  4. because of a legitimate interest.

5. Who do we share your Personal Data with?

We may have to share your Personal Data with third parties if this is necessary for the performance of the contract. This may occur in the following situations:

  1. organising our meetings and events and to have them take place;
  2. complying with legal obligations;
  3. engaging external suppliers such as our IT supplier.

If a third party processes your Personal Data as processor of Regio Foodvalley, we enter into a processing agreement with such party in accordance with the requirements of the GDPR. If a third party is an independent data controller, such party is responsible for the processing of the Personal Data concerned and for complying with the GDPR. 

6. For how long do we keep your Personal Data?

Regio Foodvalley complies with the statutory retention periods. In any case, we do not keep your Personal Data longer than necessary for the purposes for which we process these data. 

7. How do we protect your Personal Data?

Region Foodvalley applies appropriate technical and organisational measures to prevent abuse, loss, unauthorised access, accidental disclosure and unauthorised amendments of/to your Personal Data.

8. Website and cookies

Cookies

Region Foodvalley uses functional, analytical and tracking cookies. Cookies are small text files that are placed on the browser of your computer, tablet or smartphone when you first visit our website.  Regio Foodvalley only uses technical cookies. Such cookies make sure that the website works properly and that, for example, you preferences are stored. They also ensure that the website functions properly and they are used to optimise the website.

Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics to track how visitors use our website. We entered into a data processing agreement with Google, which states which personal data Google is allowed to collect. We did not give Google permission to use the obtained information for any of its other services. Google will anonymise the IP addresses. Google Analytics’ privacy policy may be consulted here.

External links

Our website lists links to external websites. By clicking a link you will be transferred to a website outside of Regio Foodvalley’s website. These external websites may use cookies. We refer to the cookie and/or privacy statement of the website concerned. Regio Foodvalley does not have any influence on the website of third parties and the related processing of Personal Data.

Enabling, disabling and deleting cookies

You may reject cookies by adjusting your browser settings so cookies will not be stored. It is also possible to delete all information that has been stored from your browser via the browser settings.  You may find more information about enabling, disabling and deleting cookies from your device in the instructions and/or by using the help function of your browser.

9. What are your rights?

You have the right to access and amend your Personal Data and to have your data deleted. You also have the right to data portability. This means that you should be able to easily receive your Personal Data in order to transfer it to other organisations. 

In order to access, delete or correct your Personal Data or to exercise your right to data portability, you may send an email to info@regiofoodvalley.nl. Before we respond to your request, Regio Foodvalley may ask you to establish your identity by showing valid identification. We will respond to your request in writing within four (4) weeks.

11. Amendments to this Privacy Statement

Regulations surrounding the protection of Personal Data and our business operations may change. Regio Foodvalley therefore retains the right to amend this Privacy Statement. The most recent Privacy Statement can be found at https://www.regiofoodvalley.nl/organisatie/privacyverklaring.
